DENVER, CO, UNITED STATES, September 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — DENVER, CO – August 24, 2026 – On September 4, Denver-based singer-songwriter Jaiel releases her debut album, The Blooming Hearts Club (Little Light Records)—a 9-track coming-of-age story about moving from grief into collective joy, power, and sisterhood.

The album’s emotional arc from grief to growth is the spine of the project. The title refers to a safe place to process loss that evolves into a joyful, intergenerational community. Jaiel moves beyond the “sad girl” archetype, using the visual motif of an empty house as a canvas for blossoming in the midst of immense loss.

“Through my own grief journey I’ve connected with so many women who find themselves in this in-between space,” Jaiel says. “Grieving and learning to let go of what once was… while also not fully sure of what is to come.”

Musically, the album blends pop immediacy with R&B warmth, drawing on Jaiel’s earliest influences: India.Arie, Destiny’s Child, and Ariana Grande. Her training in church, classical music, musical theater, and as a front-woman in a funk/jazz band gave her the foundation to blend intricate musical sensibilities with a sound that resonates with today’s pop hits.

The project is co-produced by Jaiel and Merch (AME Industries/Dreamspace Studios), with mixing by Daniela Rivera (Rihanna, Justin Bieber) and mastering by Anna Frick (Billy Strings). It is accompanied by a six-part visual narrative co-produced with House of Kodo.

The album’s singles trace the emotional arc of the project. “Take Care,” released in June, is a tender meditation on letting go. Written in 2020 while Jaiel was happily in a relationship, it sat untouched until a painful separation forced her to revisit it. “It wasn’t until my life completely flipped upside down…so much trauma and grief…that I re-heard the song and it clicked. Oh, this is telling my story.”

“Better,” released in July, is a high-energy anthem about stepping into your power, a song The GRID Magazine called “bright” and “made for singing loudly and moving forward without apology.” “The Breakdown Song,” featuring Denver artist Monica the Great, illustrates the collective support offered by the metaphorical Blooming Hearts Club, which listeners can actually join at www.jaielmusic.com.

In a state where Black residents make up only about 9% of the population, Jaiel has established a dedicated home base. She made history as the first Black woman to graduate with a music degree from Colorado College, turning her academic thesis project Black Girl Songs into a celebrated body of work.

Named by Westword as one of Denver’s R&B artists to watch, Jaiel has performed at GRAMMY House 2026, sold out Denver’s Dazzle, and earned over 210K video views for her single “Bet On Me.” A sold-out release-day pop-up and a September 30 headlining show at Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox reflect the momentum building around the project.
