Strategic innovation provides a scalable, domestic alternative to foreign supply chain dominance over critical grid infrastructure
WIDNAU, ST. GALLEN, SWITZERLAND, August 19, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — — EnergyStorage720, a division of NATPOWER International AG, announced the launch of its breakthrough Advanced Resilient Energy Storage (“ARES”) system designed specifically to addresses the U.S.’s critical need for energy sovereignty, grid resilience, and national security.
The U.S. faces a strategic paradox: its transition toward energy security currently relies on a global supply chain dominated by Chinese manufacturing. which concentration of market share raises critical questions about strategic dependence, and security risks. As electricity demand grows, renewable energy storage is essential to building a reliable, secure, and affordable energy system.
Relying on foreign-sourced battery energy storage systems (BESS), over 90% of which come from China, creates critical national security risks including supply chain choke points, environmental hazards, hardware sabotage, remote cyberattacks, and espionage vulnerabilities. These could allow foreign adversaries to disrupt U.S. power grids and compromise sensitive energy infrastructure. There can be no U.S. energy sovereignty without a comprehensive domestic energy storage strategy.
Recognizing this risk the Federal Communications Commission and Homeland Security, in August 2026, tightened national security rules by blocking the certification of new foreign-made solar inverters and grid-connected BESS equipment. These systems connect to the internet and enable remote communication, control, manipulation, sensing, data collection, or monitoring. In times of geopolitical tensions, they could provide a back door permitting an adverse foreign actor to disable thermal monitoring, override cooling systems, force rapid over-charging to induce catastrophic fires or explosions, or cause wide-scale blackouts.
ARES’ proprietary energy storage technology directly tackles the U.S.’s strategic vulnerabilities by eliminating dependency on foreign supply chains, for critical energy storage systems while fostering economic stability through domestic manufacturing. ARES is a mechanical energy storage system based on hydropneumatic technology that offers a secure, and high-performance alternative to BESS systems to mitigate risks of supply disruptions, economic coercion, and cyber-vulnerabilities.
ARES – Key Strategic Advantages:
Supply Chain Sovereignty: Utilizes earth-abundant, non-critical materials fully domestically sourced (“Made in the U.S”), eliminating geopolitical supply chain vulnerability. Qualifies for Investment Tax Credits under the Inflation Reduction Act as no components are sourced from a Foreign Entity of Concern (FEOC).
National Security Architecture: Domestic manufacturing eliminates the threat of backdoors or hidden malware which could give a foreign adverse party the ability to cause catastrophic events or widespread blackouts. Complete elimination of reliance on foreign manufacturing, and software integration.
Cyber-Secure Architecture: Built with localized, decentralized controls designed to meet the stringent defense and critical infrastructure security standards.
Sustainability: Features a 100% recyclable design with zero operational carbon footprint, aligning with environmental and climate initiatives. Non-toxic, non-flammable, immune from thermal runaway events, recyclable with unlimited cycles without any degradation.
Economic Stability: Domestic production eliminates Section 301 tariffs, stabilizes energy costs, and contributes to local skilled industrial employment.
Flexible Deployment: Can be deployed horizontally, vertically, above or below ground preserving green spaces, agricultural areas. Without fire risk or complex cooling systems ARES can be deployed in underground bunkers proving a secure energy storage system in conflict areas.
“Energy security is national security,” said Mdm. Nguyen Thi Nguyet Thu Chairlady of EnergyStorage720 “For too long, the U.S. has risked trading one energy dependency for another. Our breakthrough energy storage technology is engineered from the ground up to ensure that U.S.’s civil agencies, military readiness, and critical infrastructure remain powered by secure, sovereign, and domestically controlled technology”.
EnergyStorage720, a division of NATPOWER, Switzerland, is engaged in the business of developing and commercializing alternative energy storage technologies including its proprietary ARES – Advanced Resilient Energy Storage system.
