Deployable Energy announces MOU with Utah Office of Energy Development
PR Newswire
SALT LAKE CITY, Aug. 21, 2026
SALT LAKE CITY, Aug. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Deployable Energy Limited (Deployable) is a clean energy company that designs and manufactures compact, transportable nuclear microreactors. We are pleased to publicly announce the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on August 18, 2026 with the State of Utah Office of Energy Development (OED). This will establish a non-binding framework for cooperation and information exchange among the Parties in jointly exploring the feasibility of siting Unity™ nuclear batteries within the State of Utah.
The MOU marks an important step in advancing research, development and commercial deployment of Deployable’s Unity Nuclear Battery, which is a 1 MWe (megawatt electrical) factory-built plug-and-play power system that fits inside a standard 20-foot shipping container.
“Utah is demonstrating the kind of leadership that can make it a national hub for advanced nuclear energy. The state isn’t simply working to attract new technologies and companies – it is building an ecosystem that brings together industry, government, communities and the workforce needed to turn innovation into real economic opportunity. Just as importantly, Utah recognizes that successful energy development starts with meaningful engagement with the communities where these projects may ultimately be located. That combination of ambition, collaboration and community engagement is exactly what we look for in a partner, and we’re excited to work with the state to explore what Deployable Energy can contribute to Utah’s energy future.” said Bobby Gallagher, CEO and Co-Founder, Deployable Energy. Deployable is proud to partner with the State of Utah on the next step in our rapid deployment development; configurable for conventional and remote sites ranging from megawatts to gigawatts using flexible heat-sink options.
“Utah is leading the nation in energy innovation, and our partnership with Deployable Energy is another step towards an abundant energy future that is reliable, secure and clean,” said Emy Lesofski, Director, Energy Advisor to the Governor and Director of the Utah Office of Energy Development.
This agreement reflects Deployable’s continued progress in building the partnerships needed to advance research, testing, and demonstration activities for the Unity Nuclear Battery.
