NeuroQuant will support assessment and monitoring of neurological conditions and prostate cancer at Camana Bay

GRAND CAYMAN, CAYMAN ISLANDS, November 5, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Health City Cayman Islands will introduce AI-assisted imaging technology at its Camana Bay hospital, adding tools to help doctors assess and monitor conditions ranging from Alzheimer’s disease and multiple sclerosis to brain tumors and prostate cancer.

The hospital has acquired the full NeuroQuant suite, which analyzes medical images and produces objective measurements to support a radiologist’s interpretation. The technology can help clinicians evaluate the extent of disease and compare findings across scans to monitor changes over time.

The software processes images from compatible MRI and CT studies. Depending on the application, it automatically identifies and outlines brain structures, lesions or tumor regions, measures their volume and produces reports and visual maps for clinical review. These measurements give physicians additional information to consider alongside what they see on a scan.

“A scan can tell us a great deal, but being able to measure what we are seeing and compare it over time adds another layer of information,” said Dr. Romnesh de Souza, consultant interventional neurologist at Health City Cayman Islands. “Whether we are assessing memory concerns, following multiple sclerosis or reviewing changes in a brain tumor, these tools can help us build a more complete picture of the patient’s condition.”

An initial focus will be brain health and cognitive assessment. NeuroQuant measures the volume of specific brain structures and compares the results with reference data, supporting the assessment of brain atrophy associated with Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative conditions. Follow-up scans can provide additional information about changes over time.

Beyond dementia assessment, the suite includes tools to track multiple sclerosis lesions and brain tumor volumes, support prostate cancer assessment and treatment planning, and monitor imaging changes associated with certain Alzheimer’s therapies. Automated CT analysis provides additional information to support clinical assessment and follow-up.

The technology complements clinical judgment. Its findings must be considered alongside a patient’s symptoms, medical history and other test results. The software does not independently diagnose disease or replace a physician or radiologist.

The service will be available at Health City’s Camana Bay location. Patients should speak with their treating physician to determine whether quantitative imaging is appropriate. People with persistent memory or cognitive concerns are encouraged to begin with their general practitioner.
