NANCHANG, JIANGXI, CHINA, August 23, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — FUUMUUI, ROCKWELL and BAOHONG have announced a collaborative watercolor set bringing together three core elements of watercolor painting: pigment, brushes and paper.
The set combines four FUUMUUI watercolor brushes designed for different stages of painting, three 15ml ROCKWELL tube watercolors built around a red, yellow and blue primary palette, and 20 sheets of 300gsm BAOHONG cotton watercolor paper.
The collaboration was developed around a simple idea: watercolor results depend not only on paint, but also on how pigment moves through the brush and interacts with the paper. The three brands therefore bring their respective areas of focus into one compact painting set.
FUUMUUI: From Broad Washes to Fine Details
FUUMUUI contributes four professional watercolor brushes designed to support the progression from broad washes to controlled detail work.
The 14# brush uses pure squirrel hair, selected for its softness, water-holding capacity and gentle spring. Its larger belly opens naturally during broad applications, helping create soft-edged washes while retaining a defined point when fully wet.
The 10#, 8# and 4# brushes use Kolinsky sable hair, with an emphasis on controlled water release and point retention. These characteristics allow painters to move between medium-scale applications and precise detail work while maintaining control over the amount of water released onto the paper.
The 4# brush features a longer, finer point suited to thin, even lines such as hair, leaf veins, architectural contours and highlights.
FUUMUUI’s production process also includes material screening, manual inspection and hand shaping. Brush hairs are screened and manually inspected for consistency before being aligned and shaped by hand to help maintain a controlled working point during painting.
Together, the four brushes are intended to function as a progression through different watercolor tasks rather than simply as a range of sizes.
ROCKWELL: A Foundation for Color Mixing
ROCKWELL contributes three 15ml tube watercolors based on red, yellow and blue. The compact primary palette provides a foundation for color mixing, allowing artists to create secondary colors, neutrals, and variations in temperature and saturation without relying on a large selection of premixed colors.
BAOHONG: The Watercolor Surface
BAOHONG contributes 20 sheets of 300gsm watercolor paper made from 100% cotton. The 300gsm cotton surface is designed to support washes, layering and repeated wetting, completing the interaction between pigment, water and brushwork.
