NCBAHM and Chinese Medicine Board of Australia Establish Recognition and Mobility Collaboration Group

Joint advisory forum advances professional mobility, information sharing and collaboration between organizations in the United States and Australia.

ALEXANDRIA, VA, UNITED STATES, August 26, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The National Certification Board for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (NCBAHM)™, in collaboration with the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia (the Board), today announced the formation of the Recognition and Mobility Collaboration Group (RMCG), a new advisory forum established to support information sharing and collaboration between the two organizations and greater mobility for qualified acupuncturists between the two countries.

The RMCG brings together leaders from the United States and Australia to build a shared understanding of how each country approaches registration and certification for acupuncture practice and herbal medicine. Through the group, members will exchange perspectives on registration pathways, accreditation standards, education frameworks, and professional competencies, while examining both the similarities and the differences between the two systems. The group will also serve as a forum for ongoing discussion of practitioner recognition and workforce mobility for acupuncturists, conducted with full respect for the distinct legislative and regulatory frameworks that govern each jurisdiction.

The RMCG’s role is advisory. It will not alter current certification or registration requirements, nor will it influence individual certification decisions. Its purpose is to deepen mutual understanding of the systems that support safe, competent practice in both countries. The group will be jointly chaired by representatives of the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia and NCBAHM.
