Kristin Peikert, Macmillan Learning Chief People Officer
“Kristin has the rare ability to see around corners, challenge conventional thinking and translate big ideas into practical changes for our organization,” said Susan Winslow, CEO of Macmillan Learning. “She understands that preparing a company for the future is ultimately about preparing its people for that future. Kristin’s leadership will be essential to ensuring our people strategy and business strategy move forward together.”
Since joining Macmillan Learning 11 years ago, Peikert has taken on increasing leadership from Human Resources to a broader People & Culture organization, modernizing its approach to talent development, organizational culture and effectiveness, employee engagement, and workforce support. Those changes are helping Macmillan Learning use data and technology to anticipate workforce needs, navigate organizational change and prepare employees for the evolving nature of work.
Peikert has also played a central role in the company’s approach to AI, pushing the organization to look beyond tool adoption and consider how technology is reshaping jobs, skills, workflows, and the employee experience. Her human-centered approach to AI was recently recognized by Lattice, which honored her with its People + AI Pioneer Award for leadership in using AI to strengthen both business performance and employee experience.
“Kristin is an innovative and entrepreneurial HR leader who understands how technology is reshaping organizations and the way people work,” said Cathrin Vischer, Chief People Officer at Holtzbrinck. “She has consistently been ahead of the curve, particularly in talent and AI transformation, and has a real ability to turn emerging ideas into practical value for both the business and its people. I greatly value her perspective and partnership, and I’m delighted to see her step into this well-deserved role.”
“People strategy is business strategy, especially at a time when the way we work and the capabilities organizations need are changing so quickly,” said Peikert. “Our opportunity is to anticipate those changes, build the capabilities our business needs, and create an environment where our people can continue to learn, grow and thrive.”
