SAN ANTONIO, Sept. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — PayrollOrg® today announced the return of National Payroll Week, taking place Sept. 7–11, 2026. Since 1996, the annual celebration has recognized America’s workers and the payroll professionals who ensure millions of employees are paid accurately and on time. The campaign also promotes greater understanding of the paycheck and its role in everyday life.

This year’s campaign theme, Every Paycheck Creates Possibility, celebrates the impact every paycheck has on employees, families, businesses, communities, and the economy. More than a payday, every paycheck can help workers build financial security, plan for the future, and invest in what matters most.

Throughout National Payroll Week, PayrollOrg is inviting the public to get involved in several ways:

  • Take the annual “Getting Paid In America” survey by Sept. 14 for a chance to win a $5,000 grand prize and a bonus paycheck, while contributing to one of the longest-running surveys on employee pay practices.
  • Download the free Understanding Your Pay eBook, an easy-to-read guide that explains paycheck basics, common payroll forms, direct deposit, overtime, and more.
  • Learn more about your paycheck with free online paycheck tools and resources, including the popular 401(k) Calculator and ways you can manage your paycheck through payroll.
  • Volunteer with Money Matters, PayrollOrg’s financial literacy outreach program that equips volunteers to teach students and community groups the fundamentals of their first paycheck.
  • Apply for the Money Matters Scholarship, available to high school students committed to improving their financial knowledge while supporting their educational goals.

“Payroll professionals quietly make millions of paydays happen every week, and each paycheck creates opportunities that extend far beyond the day it’s delivered,” said Dan Maddux, executive director of PayrollOrg. “National Payroll Week celebrates the professionals who make those opportunities possible while empowering employees with the knowledge and resources to better understand their pay and build stronger financial futures.”
