ATLANTA, Sept. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The National School Boards Association (NSBA), Make Our Schools Safe (MOSS), and CENTEGIX, the leader in wearable safety technology, will host, a webinar, “From Concern to Action: Leading the School Safety Conversation in Your District,” on Sept. 23 at 2 p.m. ET.

The one-hour educational panel will bring together perspectives from school safety advocacy, emergency response, and district leadership to explore how school board members and education leaders can work together to advance safer schools.

The Sept. 23 discussion will equip school board members and education leaders with practical questions and resources to help move school safety priorities from concern to action. Panelists will also discuss emergency preparedness, district readiness, and the questions education leaders should be asking as they evaluate safety priorities in their communities.

Helping School Leaders Ask the Right Questions

School boards play a critical role in shaping district priorities, but navigating school safety can be complex. Leaders must consider emergency response practices, evolving legislation such as Alyssa’s Law, funding, technology, and the needs of individual school communities.

This panel discussion will help participants better understand those considerations and identify practical ways to move conversations forward. Attendees will learn how to:

• Recognize the board’s role in school safety leadership, including governance, policy, funding, and advocacy.
• Ask more informed questions about emergency preparedness and district readiness.
• Evaluate safety priorities in the context of legislation, funding, emergency response practices, and modern safety technology.
• Engage superintendents, district leaders, fellow board members, and their communities in moving from education to action.

The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Roderick Sams, of CENTEGIX, and will feature Alhadeff, Chief John Newman (Ret.), of CENTEGIX, who will provide a school safety and emergency response perspective, and Dr. Kristina Brooks, Superintendent of Baldwin County Schools in Milledgeville, GA, who will share a district leadership perspective.

Panelists will explore what readiness looks like in practice, common gaps in emergency response and coordination, how boards and superintendents can work together to advance safety priorities, and how leaders can determine what action is needed. .
