Under the Contract, the Company will launch the Co-Sports Club, a new club for junior high school students with disabilities (the “Club”). The Club is designed to address the social issue of securing accessible sports environments for students with disabilities, which represents an important issue alongside Japan’s policy of transitioning school club activities to communities, and to build educational infrastructure that promotes inclusive access to sports opportunities.

A Blind Spot in the Regional Transition of School Club Activities: “Lack of Opportunities for Students with Disabilities” and Background to the Contract

As the transition of school club activities to community-based organizations progresses across Japan, Nagoya City has begun its own transition through the “Nagoya Weekend Club Activities” initiative. However, during this transition process, the absence of community organizations that provide para-sports activities that are accessible to students with disabilities has become a serious social issue. • No disability certificate required, participation free of charge, and a flexible environment allowing one-time participation and participation accompanied by a parent or guardian: No disability certificate or similar documentation is required. Any student who requires accommodations during activities may participate free of charge. Each session is designed to last approximately 90 minutes. Students may attend every session or join individual sessions at their convenience. Parents and guardians are also welcome to participate alongside students, enabling flexible attendance suited to each family’s needs.
• A diverse range of programs and instruction that respects “each student’s own pace”: Students can explore a wide range of activities, from traditional sports, such as soccer, baseball, basketball, track and field, and dance, to para-sports designed for participants of varying abilities, including boccia and Mölkky. The Club enables each student to experience physical activity at their own pace, without comparison to others.
• A “comprehensive support system” with five instructors for a capacity of 15 students: To ensure safety tailored to the needs of each participant, five instructors will be assigned for a maximum of 15 students. The Company will coordinate with parents and guardians in advance, provide individualized accommodations as needed, and create an environment in which every student can participate with confidence.
