FHLB Dallas and Bonvenu Bank Provide $9K Grant to Help Louisiana Nonprofit Expand Transitional Housing and Life Skills Support for Women and Children

A $9,000 Partnership Grant Program (PGP) award from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) and member Bonvenu Bank will help Phillip’s Cottage, a nonprofit providing transitional housing and support for women with children, expand its services. The funds are part of $1.8 million in PGP funds awarded in 2026 by FHLB Dallas and members in its five-state District of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico and Texas, and will enhance life skills programming, connect residents to educational and financial resources and strengthen operational capacity to serve more families statewide.
FHLB Dallas made the announcement during a celebratory event commemorating the 30th anniversary of the PGP.
“We are deeply grateful for this grant from FHLB Dallas and Bonvenu Bank,” said Phillip’s Cottage Executive Director Brandi Cade. “This investment allows us to continue our mission of providing a safe, supportive environment for women and their children as they transition from recovery to independence.”
The PGP provides up to a 5:1 match of member contributions—up to $25,000 per member—to strengthen community-based organizations engaged in affordable housing and economic development. Funds from the annual program are distributed through participating FHLB Dallas members like Bonvenu Bank.

The PGP has been a critical funding source for small nonprofits, said Greg Hettrick, senior vice president and director of Community Investment at FHLB Dallas.
