Q4 release expands Microblink’s Identity Intelligence OS w/ new & improved biometrics, GenAI fraud detection, continuous document intelligence & more
BROOKLYN, NY, UNITED STATES, October 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Microblink, the global leader in identity verification and document intelligence, today announced the next evolution of its Identity Intelligence OS and its Know Your Actor (KYA) approach to identity and trust, designed for a world in which both people and AI agents increasingly interact and transact on behalf of customers.
AI agents are beginning to book travel, make purchases and perform other tasks that once required direct human interaction. This shift introduces a new set of questions for businesses. Traditional identity verification establishes whether a person is who they claim to be. In an agentic economy, organizations increasingly need to understand who or what is acting, whose authority that actor carries, and whether the interaction should be trusted.
Know Your Actor expands the identity model around those questions. It starts with strong identity evidence for the person or business behind an interaction and creates a foundation for connecting that identity to the actors, permissions and actions that follow.
“AI agents are changing the way people interact with businesses, but trust still has to begin somewhere,” said Hartley Thompson, CEO of Microblink. “Before a business can trust an agent acting on someone’s behalf, it needs confidence in the identity behind that authority. Know Your Actor is our approach to building that chain of trust, from the person to the actor to the action.”
Strengthening the identity foundation
As part of its Q4 2026 release, Microblink is expanding its existing Identity Intelligence OS across biometrics, document intelligence and fraud detection. The release is designed to strengthen the identity foundation businesses rely on today while preparing them for increasingly automated interactions.
New and expanded capabilities include:
Expanded biometrics. Microblink is introducing new and improved biometric capabilities, including frameless capture with automatic capture guidance, 1:1 face matching, liveness and injection attack detection. By eliminating the traditional oval or frame used to position a face, the experience is designed to make biometric verification more natural while maintaining strong identity assurance.
GenAI fraud detection. Expanded detection identifies AI-generated and manipulated imagery across identity documents, non-ID documents and other user-submitted evidence, helping organizations respond as generative AI makes sophisticated synthetic content easier to create at scale.
Continuous document intelligence. Microblink is bringing ID and non-ID documents into a unified document flow across capture methods. Over-the-air updates are also designed to accelerate support for newly issued documents, reducing delivery timelines.
Expanded fraud protection. Microblink combines detection for document tampering, injection attacks and GenAI manipulation, allowing organizations to evaluate multiple forms of attack against the identity evidence submitted during an interaction.
Adaptive controls. An early preview of adaptive capabilities will give organizations greater flexibility in determining how different actors and interactions should be handled based on their own policies and risk requirements.
Conversion analytics. New Conversion Analytics within the Microblink Command Center gives organizations greater visibility into the identity verification journey, helping teams understand how users move through verification and identify points of drop-off. Built-in guidance helps teams troubleshoot potential causes of abandonment and identify opportunities to improve conversion.
Together, these capabilities reflect a broader shift from treating identity verification as a single event toward building identity intelligence that can support decisions throughout the customer journey.
From Know Your Customer to Know Your Actor
The agentic economy adds another participant to digital interactions. A consumer may authorize an AI agent to shop, book or transact on their behalf. Businesses may deploy their own agents to interact with customers and other systems. As these models mature, identity infrastructure will need to understand not only the verified person but the relationship between people, agents and their subagents, permissions and actions.
Microblink is developing its Identity Intelligence OS around this evolving model. Its roadmap includes agent-ready identity services that allow authorized systems to invoke identity assurance capabilities, identity operations agents designed to help fraud and identity teams investigate changes in fraud and conversion patterns, and actor intelligence that can connect verified identities with authorized agents, delegated permissions and resulting actions.
The goal is to create a persistent understanding of the actor behind an interaction while allowing businesses to determine how much trust and autonomy are appropriate for the situation.
“Identity verification remains essential, but the definition of the actor is changing,” Thompson said. “The next generation of identity infrastructure needs to establish who is behind an interaction, understand the authority being exercised and give businesses the intelligence to decide whether that interaction can be trusted. That’s what we’re building at Microblink.”
The expanded Microblink Identity Intelligence OS is expected to begin rolling out in Q4 2026.
About Microblink
Microblink is the Identity Intelligence OS that establishes Know Your Actor: control over people and agents, how risk is assessed, and how decisions are made across digital journeys. Built for an adversarial AI era, Microblink replaces static verification with continuous identity control. As the only solution spanning IDs, biometrics, and payment cards, Microblink delivers a real-time command center where signals, policies, and decisioning can be calibrated with granular precision. Companies use Microblink to adapt faster than fraud, optimize outcomes over time, and enforce trust at scale across onboarding, authentication, and every moment in between. In 2025, Microblink processed 4 billion identities across 195+ countries and territories. Its proprietary Fraud Lab generates more than 100,000 images monthly for training and testing models, achieving 100 percent deepfake detection in DHS-powered testing.
